Can a TASER Kill? Conclusions Based on Research and Logic Tuesday, December 28, 2010
Are you considering buying a TASER C2, but not knowing whether these devices are really lethal or not is keeping you from making a decision? Maybe you are among the thousands of people who search the internet each day for a clear and definitive answer...only to find conflictive points of view about the subject. Search no more. We got the answer all figured out for you.
Can a TASER kill? The answer is: "not really". Emergency medicine researchers at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine (in collaboration with researchers from Louisiana State University, University Medical Center in Nevada, and Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia) studied nearly 1,000 cases of TASER guns use throughout the United States. Their findings revealed that there were either no injuries or only mild injuries (scrapes and bruises) in the vast majority of the cases (99.7%) of TASER use. Although there were indeed two incidents of head injuries (associated with falls) and even one case in which the person was hospitalized with a condition "of unclear relationship to the TASER", these three occurrences altogether constituted only 0.3 percent of the total number of cases (these findings were presented in 2007 at the American College of Emergency Physicians' Research Forum in Seattle, Washington).
Despite these facts, you may still wonder about those incidents in which people has actually died after being exposed to the TASER's electric discharge. Although those lamentable cases are quite undeniable, subsequent investigations have revealed that there is no conclusive evidence to support the idea that TASER devices actually caused those deaths, a conclusion that coincides with the findings of a study published in 2008 by the U.S. National Institute of Justice ("Study of Deaths Following Electro Muscular Disruption: Interim Report"). In most cases it hasn't been clear if excessive police force (combined with the physical stress that comes with the verbal altercation, physical struggle or physical restraint) has been the responsible factor.
The same study found that no medical evidence exists to support the idea that the TASER may induce cardiac dysrhythmia when deployed reasonably. However, the medical risks of repeated or continuous electric discharges are still unknown, so the TASER should be used that way only in situations in which your life (or that of a loved one) is in great danger, and when the benefits of using it repeatedly or continuously far outweighs the possible risks for the criminal.
The above consideration is even more important when considering the welfare of assailants who suffer heart conditions and/or other medical problems: although there are still no definitive conclusions on their specific case, they are thought to be the most vulnerable to the effects of these self defense devices. However, you must ask yourself: What are the odds of someone with a heart condition attacking you, anyways? Maybe too low to be concerned about...specially in any situation in which your life might be at risk. Would you really doubt using a non lethal TASER against someone who is threatening to kill a dear family member of yours, just because he (the criminal) might probably have a heart condition? In our opinion, your security must always be your first concern anyways, because the one who might die or be seriously injured is YOU (or your loved one), NOT the attacker.
We must clarify that we certainly have a great respect for all life and believe in the potential of criminals to be rehabilitated. However, you must remember that self defense is your basic human right, too. Your life (and that of your family members) should be respected and protected as well.
Death by TASER is not the most probable outcome for the criminal who might endanger your life, as investigations have revealed. Instead, secondary injuries might be a more probable result, although those injuries are not considered to be directly attributable to the TASER's electric stimulation. For instance, the criminal may fall to the ground after receiving the electrical shock, and may suffer impact injuries, bruises, cuts and abrasions. The attacker may also suffer muscles or tendon tears, as well as stress fractures, as a result of muscles contractions. But if you refrain from using a TASER because of that...what are you going to use instead?
If we turn to logic we will find that those secondary injuries may also result from using any other form of self defense. For example, a criminal may fall to the ground and suffer impact injuries after the would-be-victim uses his martial arts skills to defend himself. Or he (the assailant) may suffer injuries after being attacked by a the defender with a baseball bat. A shotgun may even kill the aggressor, which is even worse. The TASER is definitively a more effective and reliable self defense weapon when compared to all of the above. And because it was the attacker who put your life in danger in the first place, it would not be logical to let a criminal harm you (or a loved one) just to protect him from falling down and suffering some fractures.
Furthermore, it must be taken into account that ANY weapon, used the wrong way, can potentially kill somebody. A baseball bat can kill somebody. A pencil can kill somebody, used to stab your opponent. Many more criminals have died as the result of being attacked by the defender with shotguns and knives, regardless of the presence or absence of medical problems. In the worst case scenario, a TASER is a less lethal way of protecting yourself, your family...and the criminal himself.
TASERS have been tested on thousands of police officers and voluntary citizens, without arousing any serious health complications (if TASERS were lethal weapons, police officers wouldn't consent to participate in these trials, would they?). However, you must remember that police officers are professionals, and they have taken all the necessary precautions during these experiments, so please, do not try it at home. TASER guns are not toys, but serious self defense weapons.
In conclusion...Can a TASER kill? Our informed opinion is NO...at least not in the vast majority of cases. However, we greatly suspect that in your darkest hour, in a situation in which your life (or that of your loved ones) might be in mortal danger, you will not be wondering whether or not a TASER is lethal. You will even wish you had bought one just in time...before it was too late.

Interested in Starting a Texas Hold'em Poker League? Here's How! Saturday, December 25, 2010
If you're thinking of starting a Texas Hold'em poker league in your area and aren't sure what to do, then read on. This article is for YOU!
You, of course, have to decide if you want your Texas Hold'em poker league to be all men, all women or a mixed poker league. Then you have to poll your friends and acquaintances to see how many would commit to a ten month poker league. You will want to start out with at least 16 - 20 people.
Then you need to decide why you want to start your Texas Hold'em poker league, what would you like the group to be called, how often would you like to meet, is your poker league educational, how do you want to pay - one lump sum or for each session. And you have to set up the prize that you're playing for (usually to send the top 2 - 3 players for the season to a compete in a major tournament). You will need to establish your poker league rules.
Also, you will need to find one or more of your new recruits to host the league. Preferably someone who has poker tables, poker chips, poker software or timer, and everything else you'll need to shuffle up and deal.
Don't forget about setting up your blind structures. And establishing points for the league players in the order that they finish. The top two or three players will be given their buy in for the major tournaments that you identify in your poker league rules. You'll also want to establish how many chips that all poker league players will start with.
I belong to two poker leagues and we use the WSOP sanctioned poker rules for each league. The difference is one of the leagues meets once per month and we pay at the beginning of the league and play 12 games. The other league is set up so that we pay $20 twice per month as we play.
Both have their merits. If you pay in advance, you don't have to worry about funding your prize pool if someone misses one game. The downside is that there is no prize money per game - it all goes to the final prizes.
The pay as you go method offers the top three winners a small prize pool (half goes to the final prizes). Each league is set up to help the members to become better skilled Texas Hold'em poker players, with all aspects of the game including betting and heads up play which can be more challenging parts of the game. There's a lot of strategy involved in playing poker and this will certainly help to develop an individual's poker strategy.
The prize money that is set aside is used to send at least two people to a major tournament. One poker league that I play in pays for the buy-in for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Ladies Tournament which is played in June at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A Texas Hold'em league can be very effective for improving your poker play and give you more confidence when you play in major tournaments or casino or card room sponsored cash games.
Belonging to a league is educational, fun, and a great social outlet as well - it's enjoyable to play poker with friends and acquaintances. You can add to the social aspect by bringing food and sharing personal stories during play. And, of course, you can keep each other up on what tournaments are coming up that are close to home just in case one or more of the league players can participate. Starting a poker league in your area has many benefits and can be very educational, fun and rewarding!

Nevada LLC Friday, December 24, 2010
LLCs, or limited liability companies, have become more and more popular, especially in Nevada. The primary reason for popularity of LLCs is their ability to combine the personal liability protection of corporations with attractive tax benefits and the simplicity of forging a partnership. In addition, they are extremely flexible and require less paperwork. LLCs can be set up as new entities, or converted from an existing business. Estimates reveal that Nevada, with 40,000 LLCs in 2005, has more than the corporate-friendly state of Delaware.
What are the benefits associated with a Nevada limited liability company? First, it provides protection from personal liability. Second, it portrays a better image of the organization and enhances its credibility. Third, it offers "pass-through" taxation. Fourth, it also offers increased privacy to the owners. The Nevada LLC today has become popular primarily because of Nevada's pro-business environment and lack of a corporate income tax. No LLC members can be sued for the LLCs liability in Nevada.
The other benefits of a Nevada LLC are the absence of state tax, the simplicity in setting up and managing LLCs, the universal eligibility, ability for the formation of a single-member LLC, the flexibility in location, the privacy benefits, asset protection facility and corporate ownership, and the facility for same-day creation of the LLC.
There are specialized companies that offer Nevada LLC services to organizations. These services include name availability search, preparation of the Nevada LLC application, execution of Nevada LLC filing forms, status monitoring of the application, all correspondence with the state of Nevada, a 24-hour online customer status center, guarantee of filing success and the forwarding of important Nevada LLC documents, amongst others.
Nevada LLC provides detailed information on Nevada LLC, Nevada LLC Formation, How to Start an LLC in Nevada, Nevada LLC Forms and more. Nevada LLC is affiliated with Nevada Corporation Advantages [http://www.e-nevadacorporations.com].

Inspiring Values of Unforgettable Teachers Monday, December 20, 2010
All of us recall special teachers -- people who not only taught us but inspired us in ways that changed our lives. William Arthur Ward once said, "The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." Here are five life-changing values inspired by unforgettable teachers.
The Teachers I Will Always Remember...
... Taught the Value of Learning and Knowledge
They were enthusiastic about their subject. However, they gave more than knowledge. They showed how learning could enhance creativity, spark interests, and uncover talents. They instilled in students a curiosity to learn and an undying passion to keep learning.
... Taught the Value of Respect
They treated others with honor. They explained how kind words, and sometimes silence, could prevent hurtful confrontations and turn enemies into friends. They taught the value of respect for the community as well as the individual.
... Taught the Value of Integrity
They demonstrated empathy for those who were ill or suffering from personal loss. They would go the extra mile to offer support. Their ethics inspired students to live with courage and approach life with honesty, dignity, and self-worth.
... Taught the Value of Responsibility
They taught that personal actions have consequences and that the individual must be accountable for his or her choices. They emphasized that when people think others are to blame for problems, that very thought is the real problem. They taught that each student was ultimately responsible for his or her learning and its impact on their future.
... Taught the Value of Perseverance
They taught that education continues until our last breath. They told stories about the hard times they had faced, and how God had often turned difficulties into blessings. They refused to let students quit after repeated failures. They demonstrated that "Faith is the assurance of things not yet seen."
Not all of these teachers taught in formal classrooms. Nor did they all have a formal education. Some of them are still teaching, and the education they provide is priceless.
I believe that the greatest gifts we can give our children are the same kind of values these teachers demonstrate. Then our children can also become unforgettable teachers, sharing values that will inspire happiness and faith for future generations.

LAS VEGAS FIREWORKS Thursday, December 16, 2010
Las Vegas is fireworks crazy and commercial enterprises here take every opportunity to light up the skies. Aside from the 4th of July, store and other business openings, special sales and other promotions, casino openings naturally, and special events call for a fireworks display. This video is of the 4th of July display put on every year at Desert Breeze Park, about a half mile from my house, but still visible from home. The fireworks are preceded by a day of free family activities and conclude with concerts. Please Visit: www.playtimelasvegas.com Thanks, Jim

Leaving Las Vegas - Some Tests Are Easier Than Others Wednesday, December 15, 2010
LEAVING LAS VEGAS".....some tests are easier than others. I had mixed feelings about taking a long job that meant i would be driving to Las Vegas from San Francisco...in a stretch Hummer Limousine, no less! The thing i knew at the level of my soul was Las Vegas was no picnic for a lightbearer and especially to be going alone and in service to people that were basically going there at a massive time of commerce during the CES (Consumer Electronic Show) when an estimated 500.000 people pour into Las Vegas. You add that and the notorious reputation for no-holds barred partying the City itself caters to and it was not something i was looking forward to having to deal with. I even thought about ways i could get out of having to do this "job" but i knew there were much of an inner reason to be there. There are really no accidents that we are where we are at, even in a physical location for a temporary time, something has attracted that experience to us. In a Metaphysical sense, and i 've been around long enough to know, there is always the consideration that at least three levels of being that are ocuuring or a combination of such. One , we have some Karma in that City to balance, or the unique momentums of energy we may have left behind as a record of previous actions. Some places do activate subconscious desires or come at a time when we are ready to pass some tests. It may reveal the true nature of our progress on the Spiritual path...... I was hoping I would be able to demonstrate some mastery while I was in Las Vegas, but at times I felt almost naked in innocence to the wiles and lures of the night. I almost humorously wondered what the "Three Wise Men" would have encountered if they had to make their way through the desert past what is the modern day Las Vegas. I try and see that all "circumstances" that occur in my life have a meaning, whether it is an exercise in some new understanding I need to learn, an exploration of my own path, or a place I am intended to serve some part of life. Clearly, I would not seek out what this town generally has to offer, of my own accord.
Still, I tied to maintain some perspective about what was realistic to accomplish. It was humbling for me because of the sheer enormity of energy and influence one sometimes has to combat to keep on or hold fast to one's standard on the spiritual path. That is assuming they have one. Some friends of mine say they almost refuse to go into certain situations or even be around a certain vibration of people, but I have learned that as a student of Saint Germain we cannot reserve such a luxury for ourselves. El Morya once said in so many words, that we should not expect the Masters would simply place us on some log or stump to contemplate the path. It is a path of action, of integration, of being among the people of this plane. It is where our Victory was to be won and most likely that some karma had determined that we were to be there. It is now, not as overlooked by me that the real "training" we get on the path is the development of compassion towards people. The Masters have to see that these qualities are present in us. No faking! No selective applications! There also seems to be no better way to find out if we have the tolerance to make it on this path, than by being put in situations, which remove us from our comfort zones. People in all of our outer differences seem to do the best to accelerate us or bring out the worst if we have it in us. Some people in an understanding of mysticism can undervalue the importance of character development in the service of higher causes. I remember reading an account of HP Blavatsky who several masters said had contained one of the most brilliant minds but had been hampered in greater Spiritual progress because of an unruly emotional nature. It got me to be more serious about my own shortcomings, especially in, impatience and subtle or overt aggressions, mild dislikes or judgments. Heck, thrown in criticism and judgment while you're at it! I was surprised recently to read an esoteric teaching that said the Ascended Master is actually able to view an image or replica of our energy bodies that is "checked on" by the Master to observe variations or evidences of "the students" reactions such as anger or in harmony. Talk about not being able to not hide anything! I guess an average lifestyle does not have to worry about such scrutiny from the Master, only when through our devotion and discipline to bring about a more than average level of service, would the "Master" be compelled to notice us. You might be wondering what this has to do with the trip to Las Vegas? Well, a lot of my stuff was coming up, including fears and whether or not I could keep my energy clean and not get caught up in "things" Even before I left San Francisco, preparing for the trip, there were things to overcome. Like a lot of people in the bay area during a recent storm, I had to go through the unsettling experience of not having any power. By nighttime I think I realized how easy it is to be un-prepared. I figured out I should go out to a store and bring back some candles and matches.
Problem was I couldn't find my car keys in the dark. The light from my cell phone proved to be a useful enough device, though it was tedious. Along with that it has been cold in the bay area lately and I started the habit of sleeping in my clothes. So there was this already pretense of survival consciousness I was dealing with before I left for the long journey to Las Vegas. Usually I can drive long distances without really having to stop or rest, but the pre-trip inconveniences wore me out, plus the fact that I didn't really launch from San Jose, Ca., until after 12:00am Sunday Morning or late Saturday night. Highway 5 is already kind of creepy -lonely without the possibility of rainstorms and driving an unfamiliar stretch hummer with some nearly bald tires affecting my confidence. I barely made it a hundred miles before I had to pull over and lay down in the passenger compartment. I guess I was more beat than I thought, because we had a timeline to be in Vegas by the early afternoon, I knew I could afford only a limited break. Already I was disconnecting from the normalcy of being in secure surroundings and the idea of bedding in a narrow couch like row in a hummer was quite makeshift, but par for these types of journeys. I should probably point out the owner of this vehicle had it customized with a gambling theme and a pretty wicked caricatures of the "joker" was painted inside the passenger compartment. Hardly the image of any purity I would want to see before dozing off, but that was the nature of this trip, a real mixed bag and somewhat preparing me for what I would come across in Las Vegas, perhaps. I kept myself going (I don't drink coffee) by doing a series of decrees including calls to Archangel Michael and recorded Violet Flame calls and made it all the way to Bakersfield before I hit a wall and had to get into a hotel. I checked into the cheap accommodations of a Motel 6 and in the wee hours of 6AM. Before I made it to my room and after finding an accommodating parking for that ridiculously long vehicle I came across some interesting encounters with some people that were still maneuvering around for whatever reason I was surprised by a young girl who said she wasn't a minor who appeared to be hiding from something behind the hotel building and asked me if I could give her a ride home.
All sorts of life forms on this path. Bakersfield has a marooned kind of aura to it anyhow with the fog and parts of it just kind of loom like a large truck stop and the strangeness of people just kind of oddly scurrying around by themselves at that hour was weird, but not unexpected. Somehow, I got the sense I would see more of the underbelly of life on this journey as I myself pushed further and further into the environment of what Las Vegas would reveal to me, especially its energetic impact. I did have many miles of travel through the natural landscapes of mountains, desert and rock formations that were quite beautiful and expansive, so I appreciated those periods. Somehow I got the intuition to stop doing decrees right outside of arriving in "Vegas" Las Vegas though poured out onto me in an altogether different realm than I might of thought I was ready for, especially the sights at night and the constant stream of duties I would have to meet as a Chauffeur. It felt like a living maelstrom was surrounding me. I know that millions of people come to Las Vegas to enjoy themselves and I hardly see myself in some sort of prudish fashion, but in only a few hours of being there I really could hardly combat the torrent of images all around me. Strangely, I thought to do some decrees to offset the energy, then I felt an inner prompting, that to invoke spiritual light at that time would be like throwing a rock into a hornet's nest. So I just chilled. There was this sense of understanding in my mind that I had to be very deliberate. No Rambo type of behavior in a hurry to lob invocations calling for any judgment here. I Really got the INNER understanding how in no way does the human will in us accomplish the Victory in any type of Spiritual warfare and how super grateful IAM to Archangel Michael. This was no ordinary foray on a normal pleasure junket, that most people might come to this town for, and I myself would not choose to come here without reason, but I had purpose, though my inner child felt like fleeing. I don't gamble, and have some difficulty in the nearness of the auras of so many people, plus there are other vices there, which could pull on momentums I'd rather not deal with. After a bit, I resumed a more philosophical approach to being there. I couldn't help but think again about what could possibly be my role and fortunately I had some access to Spiritual precepts the Ascended Masters had outlined about the different levels of engagement we can find ourselves in. Getting back to what I started before, my mind continued to ponder.
I thought; "...It is not always personal Karma alone that we find ourselves in certain circumstances, but perhaps a more complex level of occurrences that seem to defy our human understanding" Again, perhaps oddly, in remembering the "teachings" I felt some comfort in my soul and outer nervousness began to dissipate. I thought of the teaching in the bible, "with all thy getting, get understanding" Like a lot of things "understanding" does not always set on us in an instant I tried to "adapt" to Vegas as much as possible. I had some funny moments because when I was younger some people used to think I look like the character "Dan Tanner" in the television show, "Vegas" There is also a Spiritual admonition that the Ascended Masters recommend that you do not try and be too many levels of awareness beyond what people can tolerate. Fortunately I already have a sometimes characteristically developed personality, so I can, "surfeit" myself in the language of the world when necessary. Sometimes too much so, by A.M. standards, but here it was useful. At times I was teetering different levels of usefulness, but trying to maintain my objective to not find myself out of alignment with a certain standard. You can only imagine, the temptations and the unending distractions in a city like this. If one wants to indulge himself as in my case, he has to only marginally try. Before I left, I decided against bringing a book I have been reading, a classic esoteric account; "Life and teachings of the Masters of the Far East," because I thought I would not have any time or balanced inclination to read. I sure wished now I had that little book to read to keep my mind anchored in some realm of higher reality, other than the constant and seductive enticements almost unendingly paraded before you. Things were not happening in an orderly linear way either. I was tumbling in realms, really revolving alternate forces of desire and seeking some constancy. I did not get some clues about what was happening till after I got back. One was, this great little book out of print titled; "CHELASHIP," Practical Steps to Sponsorship on the Path of Personal Christhood, that can give us more than an average understanding of what could be occurring especially to a soul that has already entered into an initiation of life's mysteries and hidden from an ordinary sense experience of most people. Patricia Kaufman, the book's Author writes, "The Ascended Masters are our teachers, who give us lessons both in their etheric retreats to which our souls travel while out of the body at night, as well as on the streets of daily life in the physical plane." You could definitely say it felt like i was getting mine on these streets and in this venue of perpetual but powerful Maya. I soon had my first bumpy encounter at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Cafe, where I ran aground the re-enforced guide bar that ran alongside this 30-foot vehicle. Ouch, I thought when I heard that screeching and came out of the car to find a partly mangled and dented guide bar, and on my first night there.
Later, after realizing it was a large stone embedded as a divider (how stupid, I thought, when hotels do this) I quipped I ran into a hard Rock at the Hard Rock! I found out Las Vegas has 14,000 cabs and over 4,000 limousines and it is primarily for an area along the "strip" from Russell Rd (South) to Sahara Rd (North side) and only several miles, so it really compacted, congested and fabulously ornamented in a dizzying display of neon. I must admit or offer that I had a premonition that I would do some work here in LV, when I came here about ten months ago on another limo run, but I quickly turned around at that time, perhaps rightfully sensing it would take inner work for me to be here for any period of time. By the middle of the third day in Las Vegas I had started to really make some adaptations to the City and all of the energy. It was helpful for me to get off the strip and walk around and connect with the "normal" people that lived there. It gave me a more manageable sense of being there. It was also helpful by now, I had relatively figured my way around most of the destinations and hotels I would be taking clients to and from. I also saddled up to overviews and insights the local limo drivers could provide me about this town and discovered more of a sense of comfort ability and acceptance of what I was to do and learn here. Still, there were some peculiar nuances of some of the people I had met that made me more acutely aware of how much this town is "wired" or dialed in to making money in almost any interactions. I found that even in showing people the exotic vehicle I was driving, I was raked over a little bit as the same people tried to sell me watches, trinkets and even some Canadians who came to visit LV tried to enlist me in a bizarre MLM business to find things you lost. I don't re-call being in a place where so many people were eager to interest me in some business or service, so quickly. It was like Hi! Hello, let me tell you about this and that opportunity, but it vibed of a shakedown and made things seem even more circus-like. I soon came to see there were a whole fringe segment of people that tried to generate their lively-hoods from the millions of chance -encounters that this town generates. Even the Limo drivers were opening my eyes to unique "opportunities" of compensation that seem to only happen in Vegas. Getting "commission" from hookers and legalized brothels for bringing clients to them. The Strip Clubs I would find would pay anywhere from $50-$140 per person just for dropping them (customers) off at their venues. Now being in the Limo business for some time I knew we would already had those nights where the clients would have us take them to these establishments back in San Francisco, so I would do so, but it was not always my favorite thing to do.
Here, I found myself taking our own clients to these clubs and I didn't turn away any earnings they gave me, but I did wonder if an interesting turn of karma was related. The following morning I walked out from my Palace Station Hotel room (hardly a luxury suite, more like a place roadies would stay) and went around to the drivers side of this 30ft Stretch Hummer limousine with all this gaudy array of yellow-orangish flames and these images of playing cards embedded in the paint. I clicked on the remote and tried to normally open the door, but nothing happened. Nothing it seemed I did could get the door open and I finally had to go through the passenger side and climb over a compartment (the passenger seat had been taken out) just to put the keys in the ignition and roll down the power window of the drivers side. I would wind up having over the next two days having to climb in through the drivers side window by my estimation 50 times, and it was no easy feat. At one point a limo driver I met had referred to me as "Larry the Cable guys Chauffeur" because I no longer was able to wear nice clothes, and with all the contorting I was doing, it was a little grimy and bunched up. More than once I wondered about how the door just abruptly stopped working after that last drop-off at the strip club. Having to pull myself through and hang my backside to people in getting in and out of a $150,000 custom limo was almost embarrassing, especially as I would get questioned by a phalanx of security personnel at the various hotels and casinos. It became one of the moments I looked forward to the least and every time I did it I felt I was paying some type of penance through the discomfort on my 50 year old and long removed from a lithe athletic body. Fortunately I had some muscle strength and eventually I learned the best way to maneuver my frame, but as an average effort it was difficult.
I did began to both soften the encounters with people and tried to adapt to what one could expect from the nearly furious torrents of images, especially the level of which this city uses the image of the female body to sell or entice people to go somewhere. What an adjustment in my focus I had to make. I was really a novice in finding the streets and venues and with these trucks, constantly circling with these rolling banners of over sized images of nearly naked women always being pushed in your face. It was like, "enough!" I guess you just get anesthetized to it all. Oddly I wondered and entertained what would I do if I had to work here? Even though there were many almost repulsive forays one might have to encounter on a daily basis, it was after all an obvious City of means and access. I felt I could make money in this town, but at what price? And how could I cleave to an inner standard of consciousness or would even a Spiritual Titan begin an almost insurmountable descent or slide into nearly total compromise. It would hardly be an easy initiation, but strangely I found things I could see myself liking about Vegas and wondered where and how could I access the independent nature and freedom loving spirit of Many people who live in Nevada. Cities like Reno and Las Vegas are known to have many voices of open-mindedness that can include many metaphysical realities and possibilities and several radio show hosts and programs that broadcast here. So there is the element of Souls that either are already quickened or could be. What would I do if Saint Germain inspired me through my own intuition to move there or I recognized strong signals there was some purpose the Ascended Masters wanted to accomplish and use me as a vehicle, could I do it? Would I be willing? Could I maintain my own equanimity? I had been to Vegas before in the capacity when I was working for an organization as a bookseller of meta-physical and health titles, but I didn't remember it being so rugged or being so brutal on the Chakras. In fact, there was some early understanding that had been passed on to me, how Las Vegas had been in previous ages an area of great light and purity but had suffered a significant inversion and downward spiral of the Spiritual energies of the people and the land. The Ascended Masters teach that land masses also have "records" on the etheric and physical planes and where there was a great misuse of light those areas can become "wastelands" or deserted and absent of elemental life, but that souls embodied in those areas in previous times like Atlantis or Lemuria would tend to re-embody there. I remember some more information that the area of present day Las Vegas had actually held temples of light but had become desecrated through the perversions of the light of the divine mother.
Not an uncommon occurrence in many areas of modern cities, which we live in today. Being in Las Vegas today, energetically I experienced many inner perceptions this was true. I felt like Las Vegas was an epicenter of the energies of Mammon or commercialization on many levels. Often at the expense of the Soul's higher purposes I felt sadly that the people especially around the "strip" were drawn heavily into these vortexes of modern day "citadels of mammon" and unreality, to the detriment of a permanent sense of life immortal or Spiritual dimension. Not that there were no souls of light or pockets of Spiritual realms in Las Vegas. There are teachings, that where there was or is a great light there is also the drawing in of the more base, dark and even sinister energies. Light attracts darkness. In a capsule I knew I had too little of a brief stay to surmise what was really going on here or what could be the Ascended Masters purposes or my own Karma if any for now at least. I kept getting the "mind-thought" that I was to be on "observation" and both take in some fact finding and that the Ascended Masters we also evaluating me and seeing how I reacted here and the impact on my four lower bodies. I have seen it before where I would later get an "assignment" to go back to a place I had previously visited and I may have been in my outer consciousness unaware of my reason for being there at that time. Las Vegas, felt like somewhere in time and space a purpose was looming. For now, I was grateful that I would be leaving. I think the book is open still on what can be happening for me with Las Vegas. I know for now there is a time for reflection and a summation of all the influences being in that type of environment had on me. I will have to monitor my attunement and see if I have any new opportunities to return to that city. I will say this if it comes I feel I will be more prepared. I think I will try and get out along the outskirts of the "strip" at least and I already feel a sort of "interest" in the possibility of other realms of understanding that may be revealed to me.
I can remember "Leaving Las Vegas" in the early morning and I was pretty much clear past the last Casino's before the California border and rather happy to be in the desert past the sights, the sounds and "Vegas" became a distant and fading image in my rear view mirror as I joyously raised my voice in dynamic decrees. I can't remember being so grateful to coming into California, which of course has its own set of issues. Interestingly enough I pulled into Barstow and felt drawn to go to a "Del Taco" restaurant and drove into the parking lot with that long stretch Hummer of which the site drew an appreciative group of people to notice. Inside I met and dialogued with a group of retired men who gathered it seemed regularly at Del Taco to have coffee and share their fellowship. It was a nice interchange between us, a little whimsical, a little informative as we shared stories.
It helped me see people are really pretty similar in basic needs. I showed them the car, we laughed. It was quite an unusual experience for them in that small town. For me it was a grateful down to earth feeling, I needed. Wow, it was quite a bit to absorb being to, and through Las Vegas. I was very much grateful to be heading home with my insights and the ponderings of my soul. I don't know what I was feeling really, there were a lot of mixed feelings, a little forlorn, a little relieved, somewhat uncertain about some things, I really wanted to rest. On some levels I felt a greater appreciation for the Spiritual understandings of life I have been given. Though we just don't see them with our eyes, the Masters, the Angels or Saint Germain, I know they are there, guiding us, illuminating things. I am glad we have more in our potential than the life we have created on this earth, that we can have more of a Vision of the "reality" that is presented to us, that is bantered about by others and their ideas. It showed me where we have to maintain our own sense of vision and divine direction or the choices presented to us can quite easily reflect a sense consciousness quite un-appealing in form and vibration. It Made me feel kind of inspired again, desiring of keeping on with the Vision and hopes of being a co-creator with the Divine. I wondered what would come next? Interesting Path, this life.

What to Expect Once You Decide to File a Las Vegas Bankruptcy Tuesday, December 14, 2010
The Bankruptcy Process
This article addresses how Bankruptcy cases are handled for cases that filed in the Bankruptcy Court located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bankrutpcy cases filed in other courts may progress in a slightly different manner.
Once you decide to file Bankruptcy, your attorney should provide you with some items that you will need your to complete. The main item is usually a questionnaire which should ask to to provide some of the following:
-some personal information (name, address, ss#, ..., );
-information on your assets (a breakdown of bank accounts, cars, homes, ...);
-list of creditors to make sure that we have all of your creditors, since not all of your creditors will appear on your credit report;
-information on your last 6 months of income; and
-information on your living expenses.
You should also gather certain documents, such as bank statements, tax returns, paystubs, divorce decrees, or other items that will be needed to either complete your paperwork or that will have to provided to the Bankruptcy Trustee. You will also then have to complete a Credit Counseling course that is usually completed on the internet.
Once you complete the questionnaire and deliver the requested documents, your attorney should begin to prepare your paperwork. Once done, you should review and sign the Petition, Schedules and related items. Your case is then ready to be filed provided you have completed the Credit Counseling course, and paid the appropriate fees. Keep in mind that once your case is filed, you will have to complete a second course on financial management.
What happens next depends on whether you filed a Chapter 7 or a Chapter 13 case. If you filed a Chapter 7, about a month after your case is filed, you will need to attend a Meeting of Creditors at the Bankruptcy Court. During this meeting, the Trustee will ask you questions for a few minutes and your creditors may also seek some information from you. Typically, however, no creditors will show up. Usually, clients are understandably quite nervous about attending the Meeting of Creditors. They are relieved once it is over and they see that it is not near as bad of an experience as they feared. Most of the time, about 2 to 2 ½ months after the Meeting of Creditors, you will receive you Discharge. This closes your case and is the final step in extinguishing you dischargeable debts.
In a Chapter 13 case, you will have to start making your monthly "Plan Payments" to the Trustee about a month after your case is filed. Also, the Meeting of Creditors is about 6 to 8 weeks after the case is filed. Then, approximately a month after that you can "confirm" your case, which is the process where the Bankruptcy Court approves your plan. Also, items such as removing your second mortgage, attempting to modify your first mortgage, or negotiating a settlement with the IRS or other creditor, should be taken care before your case is confirmed. Sometimes, the confirmation will need to be continued to resolve these types of issues. After your case is confirmed, you will need to make all of your scheduled Plan Payments. Once this is done, you will receive your Discharge.
As indicated, the above description pertains to Bankruptcy cases filed in the Bankruptcy Court located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bankrutpcy cases filed in other courts may progress in a slightly different manner.

Medieval Castles - An Essay
Castles remind us of a time that was full of adventure and romance. Castles remind us of a time in history in which there was a lack of government and order. Although there was not mass confusion and anarchy, there was less order. Castles were the basis of feudalism. Castles can be seen as a manifestation of feudal society. Feudalism started with the rise of castles and ended with their end. The castle set the tone as the only homestead that nobility would live in during this time. Castles were influenced by and influenced many medieval cathedrals in Europe. Although castles served many purposes, their primary purpose was military. At that time, people were not protected by merely shutting and locking a regular wooden door. They needed the protection of castles and their knights. The lords and constables of castles needed serfs to work the land to make revenue in order to pay rent to the more important nobles. Given the following evidence, it is relatively obvious why castles and castle building played an instrumental role in the development of Western Europe.
Castles are unique to a time in history known as medieval times. The word medieval in our times is an insult to anything as is the word feudal. Through the haze and ruins, one can imagine dungeons, chivalrous knights, and mighty Lords who ruled the land and protected the common peasant from barbarians and other invaders. The rise of castles marked the rise of feudalism. This was all started by the crusades. The majority of the knights and nobles went to liberate the holy land from the Muslims. The Crusades influenced castle builders back in Europe. Ideas were gathered from Muslim and Byzantine fortifications. Because of the lack of protection in Europe, a castle's strength needed to be increased because of the ever-present threat of a Muslim invasion. The end of Feudalism also marked the end of the middle ages and hence the end of the great castle era.
Castles integrated the combination of residence and fortress. The first castle dates back to King Sargon II of Khorsabad in ancient Egypt. He erected a grand palace for himself to protect him and his subjects. The first recorded references to castles was the Edict of Pistes by Charles the Bald, king of the West Franks. "We will and expressly command that whoever at this time has made castles and fortifications and enclosures without our out permission shall have them demolished by the First of August" (Brown Architecture of Castles 13). Other castle laws were the Norman Institutions handed down by William the Conqueror after he took over England. One law says that no one shall raise castles in Normandy without the Duke's license.
An ideal castle site was one that had natural obstacles for defense such as steep hillsides and water. Castles that were built on rocks or islands were especially effective. An example of this is Bodiam in Sussex which was the home of Sir Edward Dalyngrigge in 1385. A moat offered good protection, but building on a lake or river offered better protection. The site should not be too remote. It should have water and building material readily available nearby. A site should have a good climate, good pasture, and ample fertile land. If a castle had all these things, it would increase its chances of surviving a siege.
A large majority of early castles followed the motte and bailey design. These designs utilized earth and timber. A motte and bailey design is a design where the keep is on a hill or motte behind the bailey which is the open area of the castle similar to a town square. A bridge usually connected the motte to the bailey. The motte was a great mound of earth or rock. Sometimes it was artificial, but the majority of the time it was authentic. At its base there was a deep trench that resembled a moat. This was used as defense. Surrounding the motte was a wall of timber. The motte also contained the keep which is where the lord of the manor and his family lived. The keep was the innermost part of the castle. It was the last defense against attack. The keep has also been referred to as the donjon. This is where the French got the word dungeon meaning the jail or place to hold prisoners. Surrounding the entire premises was a wooden fence that was at least ten feet in height. These wooden stakes were then implanted in the ground for support. The fence sometimes stood upon posts to allow men to get through. During a siege, the perimeter would be covered with wet animal skins to curb the threat of arson. Most motte and bailey castles were built before William the Conqueror's conquest in 1066.
Walter the Archdeacon wrote a biography of John, bishop of Therouanne about 1130. In it he describes Merchem Castle near Dixmude: "There was, near the porch of the church, a fortress which we may call a castle... exceedingly high, built after the custom of that land by the lord of the town many years before. For it is the habit of the magnates and nobles of those parts... to raise a mound of earth as high as they can and surround it with a ditch as broad as possible. The top of this mound they completely enclose with a palisade of hewn logs bound close together like a wall, with towers set in its circuit so far as the site permits. In the middle of the space within the palisade they build a residence, or, dominating everything, keep" (Brown Architecture of Castles 21)
Castle designers saw a need for improvement because wood and earth were not strong and were not effective protection against fire. There was also a need for bigger, grander castles because noble visitors did not travel alone so a castle would have to have enough room for the occasional visitor and his or her group. The architects who designed castles were known as master masons. They saw that stone would be a more effective building material. Although it was cold and hard to work with, it provided the much needed protection against fire. These newer castles are called enclosure castles. Like motte and dailey designs, enclosures castles had a wall protecting the perimeter of the manor. However these castles were not built upon hills or mottes. The keep of the castle was incorporated into the wall surrounding the property. These castles still had a bailey. With this new style of castles came a new construction material. Stone became the only material to build one's castle out of because it made castles much stronger against attack. The tower of London is an example of a masonry castle. The ideal stone for castles was the fine limestone of Caen in Normandy. This limestone was soft when first quarried, but gradually became hard as it was exposed to air. To insulate against the cold stone walls of castles, the women made tapestries for the walls. The tapestries almost always contained a story relating to the castle. One of the most famous tapestries is the Bayeux Tapestry. It depicts the Norman knights before Hastings in 1066. Since they were now using stone, castle builders were able to integrate defenses into the castles.
Castles needed to have defenses. They were not made impregnable. They were made so that it would take an enormous amount of artillery and money to take the castle. They were made so that it would take a large amount of time to take a castle. The castle of Newcastle at Tyne was far from impregnable in 1173, but it was strong enough to make an ill-prepared Scottish King William think twice about a siege: "Well sees the king of Scotland that he will never complete the conquest of Newcastle on Tyne without military engines" (Ibid 80). Some defenses used by castles were machiolations. Machiolations were projecting battlements to protect against arrows and other weapons. They were at the top of the wall surrounding the castle. Arrowslits or arrow loops were slits that were cut into stone to allow sharpshooters a place to shoot. They were angled so that the sharpshooter was protected from oncoming projectiles. Another defense used was Greek fire. This was an incendiary device that was used against wooden attack machines. The ingredients of Greek fire are a mystery. It is thought that it contained some of the following components: crude oil, refined oil, naphtha, pitch, resin, sulfur, quicklime, and bitumen. This deadly mixture was put on an arrow and then shot onto one of the attacking machines and it gave explosive results. Greek fire was probably developed in the seventh century by the Byzantines for naval warfare. Greek fire was a morale builder for the defenders during a siege. The Lord of Joinville described Greek fire as "This Greek fire was suck that seen from the front as it darted towards us it appeared as large as a vessel of verjuice, and the tail of the fire that streamed behind it was as long as the shaft of a great lance. The noise it made in coming was like that of a thunderbolt falling from the skies; it seemed like a dragon flying through the air. The light this huge, flaming mass shed all around it was so bright that you could see right through the camp as clearly as if it were day. Three times that night the enemy slung Greek fire at us from their petraries, and three times they shot it from their arbalestres a tour" (Ibid 88).
Weapons were used against castles during a siege included the trebuchet, mangonel, belfry, ballista, ram, and bore. The trebuchet was a big machine that flung artillery like a catapult. The mangonel was similar to the trebuchet but smaller and more maneuverable. Its strength was based on the tautness of the hemp, rope, or tightly twisted animal sinew. Artillery used by these weapons include rocks, fireballs, and dead animals to spread disease. The belfry was a mobile tower which was built higher than the castle walls in order to scale them during siege. The ballista was essentially a large crossbow that hurled rocks and other large boulders. The ram was a device that did what its name says. It was used to knock the portcullis or gate down. The bore was a device used by the attackers during a tactic known as mining. They mined from their camps to the castle walls. They would set up a support then start a fire to break down the castle walls. The defenders of the castle also used this tactic to counter the attackers siege. They would watch the moat to see the vibrations caused by the attackers shovels. Then they would start a counter mine. This was the most effective tactic used in a siege but it was the most dangerous. It was dark, had contaminated or little air and there was always a threat that the tunnel would cave in or be caved in by the castle's garrison.
Castles were not just fortresses but also residences of the nobility. It is this balance of military and residential qualities which make a castle so different from other fortifications. Castles had all the best furnishings and colors. They had chapels because Europe was a Christian continent. They occasionally had more than one. On the castle property were things like gardens, parks, vineyards, dovecotes, fishponds, mills, and stables. Castle were not as primitive as we think them to be. They had some of the conveniences that we have today. They had a form of a toilet. It was a toilet made of stone. People who wished to use it had to bring some material to protect themselves from the cold stone. The waste would eventually drain to a river by way of an underground pool. These cesspits would often have to be cleaned out by dung farmers.
Not all castles were extravagant fortresses that housed kings and all his subjects. Many castles were just built for the lord, his family and a few servants. Other castles that were not well protected or had no threat of attack were called fortified manors. The design of a castle was taken very seriously by the lords. There is reference to Aubree, wife of the Count of Bayeux, executing on the spot, Lanfred, her master mason after he completed her castle. She did this because she was so pleased with it that she didn't want him to build one like it for anyone else.
Castles were the basis of feudalism. They controlled the land and all within it. A castle was a lord's response to a mounted cavalry charge. Castles were effective centers of military power and territorial lordship whether or not the king or prince was there. Castles are an important part to history. They are phenomenal structures that still influence modern houses today.

Judgment Collection Monday, December 13, 2010
I am not a lawyer. This is my opinion about what I have learned and observed. If you need legal advice, contact a lawyer.
The easy part was getting the Judge to agree with you, to get your Judgment.
At every Courthouse - there should be a sign that says: "When you win a Judgment - don't expect to be paid". Of course such signs don't exist.
While court is a place to win a judgment, the court does not care if the judgment is paid. In most courts, they don't even allow social security numbers, birth date, or any other debtor information on any court paperwork. The reason given is privacy concerns. It seems that when you owe money, privacy is a primary concern.
The only information on most judgments is the persons name, and the address they were served at. You must learn obscure laws and fill out complex paperwork to enforce your Judgment.
Also, you must pay lawyers, courts, process servers, private investigators, or sheriffs at every step. You pay to try to collect - you don't get refunds if the collection effort fails. And as the economy slides, governments and courts are raising their fees and reducing their services.
The enemies of a successful Judgment Collection are small judgments and poor (or old or sick) debtors. When a Judgment is small (e.g. less than $12,000), it's too small to be worth paying a lawyer to help you collect a Judgment. When the Judgment is very small (e.g. less than $2,000) it's too small to interest most Judgment Enforcers.
When a debtor is poor, nothing can be done, except convince them to pay tiny amounts or hope things improve for them. Improvement can mean the economy improves, they inherit something, or win the lotto. The same problem comes up when you sue a company that is now broke.
When the debtor is old (or disabled), many assets such as retirement funds, disability, and social security is off limits - even if the debtor defrauded you. An old slogan comes to mind - "Youth and skill" is no match for "old age and treachery".
The economy is not helping people recover their Judgments. There was a time when all you had to do was record a lien on property, and you would be paid. That's no longer a reliable way to be paid.
Now a better case, your Judgment is against a rich young person with assets in their own name. Basically the pattern is: Identify an asset, fill out paperwork, and pay the court, sheriff, and sometimes others, to seize the asset. Then wait to see if the seizure works. Sometimes it does not work. One example is when there is another wage garnishment ahead of yours.
Except for bank account and wage levies, and advanced procedures like assignment orders - all other assets must be sold at auction. As an example, you can't take their TV set. You can pay the sheriff a big deposit, and have them take the TV and sell it at a public auction. If you try and have the sheriff sell something bigger - like a car or a house - you can waste thousands to sell something that does not belong to the debtor. (E.g. a property that is upside down or a leased car.)
Finally, you must always be calm and polite. If you make a mistake, you may end up owing the debtor money. The biggest mistake you can make is trying to collect on a Judgment discharged in bankruptcy.
Many rely on Judgment Collection people such as Judgment Enforcers to enforce their Judgment. Location is everything. Florida and Texas are debtor-friendly states. And Nevada, Missouri, and Arizona have special rules that make enforcing small Judgments troublesome.
In summary, the easy part is getting the Judgment. Most people end up finding a Judgment Enforcer. They are easy to find, that subject is my expertise.

Below is a list of the things you have to pay for health insurance.
Premium: This is the monthly fee that the insured have to pay so that they can be provided health coverage and health related services like doctor's visits or the hospitalization plus the medicine the doctor prescribe. Some companies that are affiliated in some health insurance plans get their employees one.
Apart from the companies it will be paid by you, so they'll just deduct it directly from your paychecks and the other part will be paid by the company. If you get a private insurance for yourself the older you are the higher your premiums will be. If you are employed in a very dangerous job like a flight instructor or you have a chronic health condition your premiums will also be high.
Deductibles: This is the amount you have to pay out from your pockets each year; it is for health related expenses. Plus if you pay a higher deductible your premium will be paying lower premiums.
Coinsurance: There are some insurance that requires you to pay a percentage for the cost of covered health related services when you have met your annual deductible. When you have met your annual deductible plus the coinsurance, if your insurance company requires it then it might help you to save money when one of your family member go on a checkup. Your insurance might pay 80% of your doctor's fee and you only have to pay for the remaining 20 %.

Debt Consolidation Mortgage Loans Can Improve Financial Stability to Homeowners
Many Americans are now feeling the pinch of high interest credit card debt, high auto loan balances, and high consumer debt. Add to this, the inflation of higher utilities, higher gasoline and higher food prices and it's no wonder divorce rates are up. A lot of consumers continue to pay the minimums on their credit card balances each month. With this habit of repayment, many won't pay their charge cards off in their lifetime.
Homeowners with consumer debt in excess of $15,000 should consider a debt consolidation loan. The right debt consolidation loan can help to reduce a homeowner's monthly expenses, increase their discretionary income and place them back on the right track financially. How does a debt consolidation loan work? In a nutshell, a debt consolidation loan will pay off the existing first mortgage and other debts thereby reducing the monthly expenses or monthly obligations the homeowner must make. The new mortgage may be a fixed rate mortgage, so the homeowner's expected payment will not fluctuate. The reduction in monthly expenses will help the overall financial stability of the homeowner by making available more cash each month. Credit card and other consumer debt interest rates are in the double digits. The right mortgage loan can have an A.P.R. below 7% which can significantly lower the amount of interest paid on the debt and also lessen the term. Once extra cash is freed up, the homeowner can apply the monthly savings to the principle balance of the mortgage thereby reducing the term of the debt. The monthly savings can also be applied to home improvements, college funds, 401K or I.R.A. accounts or it can be used just for a better lifestyle. In short, the monthly savings can be used for whatever the homeowner chooses.
Homeowners who wait until they are forced to do something often find they cannot get approved. Their credit scores might drop because of their debt load and or delinquencies. There are debt consolidation loan programs available for homeowners who have less than perfect credit and low F.I.C.O. scores. Some of these debt consolidation loan programs can help those with F.I.C.O. scores as low as 500. A mortgage expert can help you find the right debt consolidation loan to fit your needs.

Las Vegas Lawyers Saturday, December 4, 2010
From purchasing a house to crossing the street, the legal system influences almost every facet of our society. Las Vegas lawyers help in shaping the backbone of this critical system in Las Vegas, by linking it with the society in various ways.
Most of these lawyers have specialized in only one area of the law. The most common specialties of lawyers in Las Vegas include bankruptcy, sexual harassment, divorce, driving, taxation and criminal law. Other popular areas are auto or trucking accidents, brain injuries, medical malpractice, employment, product liability, worker's compensation and wrongful death.
Finding a good Las Vegas lawyer to fight a case is not a difficult task. There is plenty of information provided on the Internet about the best lawyers in Las Vegas, their specialization and their standard fee. Also, word of mouth and the telephone directory can be very helpful.
The fee of a Las Vegas Lawyer can be pretty high, depending on the type of case and the amount of time spent on it. There are four methods of computing the legal fees. First is by 'hourly fee arrangements' which is in addition to the out-of-pocket expenses of the lawyer, such as sheriff's fees, transcripts, filing fees, drafting documents, phone calls, meetings and research. Second is the 'contingency fee arrangement', which allows the lawyer to obtain a definite percentage of any judgment amounts received by his client. This percentage generally varies from 25% to 40%.
